The Genealogical-Heraldic Society in Poznań, the first organization of this kind in Poland, was founded in 1987 by a group of scholars and amateurs interested in genealogy and heraldry.
The aims of this society include on one hand popularization of genealogical and heraldic knowledge among amateurs, so that their research is based on sound scholarly foundation, and on other hand - starting and coordinating research projects of more general importance, such as compiling inventories of archival sources and bibliographies, indexing vital registers, building up a library collection, etc.
Annual membership fee is $30 (or equivalent in other currency) which covers subscription to annual periodic "Gens" (back issues are available at $10 per 1 annual issue).
